Pictures in the Pines - The Radacks

It's always intimidating and also flattering when another photographer asks you to take pictures of their family! Jennifer Radack with OGrace Photography saw that I was doing Pictures in the Pines pictures and thought it was a great way for their family to get pictures done out of the heat. They are from Colorado and miss the pine trees and cool weather so they decided to make the weekend a camping trip for the kids and also family picture time.

I love that they allowed me to take them back roading to find some really fun and different locations for the pictures! We got some great ones!

Pictures in the Pines - The Hummers

I have known the Hummer family for as long as I can remember. David and I went to High School together and I used to hang out with him and Robert all the time playing basketball. I also worked for the Hummers in their Restaurant during High School so I have lots of memories!

A few years ago Nancy asked me to photograph Robert and Crystal's wedding and I was thrilled! When she called me up and said she heard I was doing Pictures in the Pines and wanted to set up a family picture I was so excited. All the kids were in town and it was the perfect weekend to do it!

It's so crazy when you see your friends having families and watch families that you've known forever grow.... we got a good mix of everything, including the dog (she was feeling left out).

Aren't they all so sweet... it's crazy that my friends can have 3 kids already and one is a 7 year old!!! I feel so old!!! But they are beautiful!

Pictures in the Pines - Reece Gonzalez

This week I am up in Pinetop and doing a few sessions for families who want to get out of the heat!!! This is one of my favorite families, the Gonzalez family. I photographed their wedding and also their little boy Reece's first pictures at 8 weeks. Well Reece is now 8 months old so we met up again to take more pictures. Since Randy and Michele come up to Pinetop a lot we thought it was a great idea to take pictures up here. I'm so glad we did! We got some very cute shots of the family and of Reece.

We also were able to get pictures with Grandma and Grandpa!











I love this one of Randy and Reece... we were trying to calm Reece down with some food and he totally fell asleep so we weren't able to do too much more.


Right as I was about to leave he woke up and was ready to go again, so we got a few more shots!

The Wright Family Pictures

I just posted pictures up of little Landon DeWall and now I get to post pictures up of his entire family!!! Katie called me up and told me that her entire family was going to be in town and they wanted pictures of the whole gang, so we set up a time and place to take the pictures.

The day that we were supposed to take the pictures it poured... do you all remember that crazy weird weekend in May where it rained the entire time and was so out of the blue... yea, that was the weekend. I was so hoping that the rain would stop because I knew that this was not something that we could easily reschedule considering they are all from out of town. Well we decided to try to brave it the next day and go for it rain or shine!

Luckily it wasn't pouring the next day and we had some good light. It did sprinkle on us and right after we did these pictures it poured, so i'm glad we tried to do the pictures because we had a blast.

A lot of people ask me if taking pictures of weddings is hard... and I have to say yes and no at the same time. I love photographing weddings and I've been doing it so long that they aren't really that difficult for me; however, when it comes to family pictures sometimes those are much harder than a wedding... the reason why.... whenever you add a lot of people to a picture and then you add 4 kids all under the age of 2... you never know what will happen!

Katie and I were laughing because it was so chaotic and crazy, but we had a blast!

Like I said, you never know what is going to happen when working with kids... we were trying to get a shot of all the kids with Grandma and Grandpa and it just wasn't going to happen.

Katie and her sister both have 2 boys and the funny thing is they are all so close in age... the two older boys are about a month apart and so are the younger ones... how fun that must have been to be pregnant at the same time and now they have cousins that are the same age!

The Graves Family - 2nd Year!

This is one of my favorite families of all times... the Graves Family!!! Last year when I was out in Austin I took pictures of their family and then John called me up this year and asked if I would come out to Dallas and take pictures again. I'm hoping it's a yearly thing because I can't get enough of this family! It's so much fun being able to see a family grow and change every year.

We started taking pictures at their house in Dallas and then moved all over the place to find some other unique places to get pictures. Nicole follows my blog so she knows the kind of places that I look for. She took me to a couple places that I LOVED.... she said, "I know you like color and urban, so I thought this would work." Um yea!!!!

I have so many favorites, but I cut it down to my favorite 30... i'm so bad at getting it down to a small number. So.. enjoy!

Addie Miller - 7 Months!!!

This is Addie, one of the cutest little girls on the face of this earth and aren't I so lucky that I got to photograph her!!!!!!!!

This is my third session with her... the first time she was in her mothers stomach!!!

It's amazing watching her grow and being able to take these monumental pictures of her. It's especially amazing to me too because as I watch her I think of my little girl who is about to come soon.... it makes me want to meet her even more!

Addie is so adorable and so loveable... you can tell that she is loved because she is just so happy and loves her mommy and daddy sooooo much!!!!

I hope you enjoy these pictures because they truly are some of my favorites!

The Reister Family

This is the last post until after christmas!!! I am about to put away the computer and enjoy my family and start getting ready for Christmas, my favorite time of the year!!!

But before I shut it all down I had to post a recent family session that we just did; Meet the Reister Family! Maria called me up awhile ago and said that she read an article in the newspaper about me awhile ago and since then has wanted to do family pictures! Sadly, I don't know what article she was talking about and I'm hoping to know someday, but it makes me happy that they called.

We did the session around the Chandler area and the pictures turned out great! Here are a few of my favorites.

The Joiners and Allens

My sister has twins and her sister-in-law has twins as well, so we have a lot of twins running around! So we decided to do a family shoot of both of the families so their grandparents could have some good pictures of all the kids together! We had a lot of fun.

The whole idea started with this one picture.... my sisters father in law is a huge Redskins fan and they wanted to do a picture of all of them in Red Skins gear for him!

The week of Thanksgiving was a little crazy for me, but we managed to fit in a really fun family session with the Medoffs! Because we went on Vacation i'm just now getting to post these pictures!

There were lots of kids and fun grown ups!! It was a really great time and I love how these turned out!

Christmas Cards

Well we've been crazy busy working on Christmas Cards lately, but I have to let you all know that tomorrow is the deadline to order cards and get them in time for Christmas. We will be on vacation all next week and we won't be processing any orders, so all orders must be placed by tomorrow!!!

Ben is growing up!

A few weeks back I got to go to Ben's house and see him and his family! As I have said so many times, I love seeing the Robinsons. I did a baby's first year session for Aaron and now we are working on Ben's sessions. This was his 2nd session and he did pretty good! What a cutie!!!

And of course Aaron and the family had to get in on the action! Aren't they the cutest family ever?

Family Pictures at Silverleaf

Yesterday I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph families at the Silverleaf country club in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is the 2nd year I've been able to do this and it is such an honor.

We had a great time and got some great pictures. All the families were wonderful.

Most of the families are going to use these images for their Christmas cards so this was pretty much the start of my Christmas Mini Sessions!!

I'm so excited to see the final choices for cards.
